I know you have heard the old saying, all work and no play makes Johnnie a dull boy. During this stay at home we don’t want any dully boys and girls.
Every day you should take some time for fun and relaxation to keep your mind alert and maintain good mental health.
Below are some examples of activities parents and children can participate in using your imagination and a chance for you to dream. No matter the age you can dream (meditate).
Meditate means to think deeply or carefully about something for a period of time on something you want to achieve. The time should be according to the ages of children.
Very young school age children may not be able to be still and quiet for the above times; be flexible and let them choose how long they want to participate.
The game of imagination
- Sit or lay in comfortable and quite place with eyes closed
- Imagine you can be anything you want to be, go anywhere you want to go and do anything you want to do.
- Imagine the whole scene see yourself in the place you are dreaming of. If you are in Hawaii do you smell the sweet fragrances of flowers. If you are an actor do you see yourself accepting an Academy award.
- When you are ready to open your eyes sit up take a deep breath and feel the feeling you had during your time of imagining.
- Write you dreams on a tablet, look at them daily, if you need to add to or take away you can do so because it’s your dream.
- Share your dreams with someone if you feel comfortable doing so.
